Enacting Equity will provide an engaging framework for people to think more deeply about racial equity and begin to move toward action. Using theatre-based games and activities, participants will investigate barriers to racial equity and envision new tactics for devising solutions.
This highly interactive workshop is fast-paced and has a participatory approach that enables community members to build community, share their perspectives, and brainstorm concrete solutions to real challenges. Workshop tools will include techniques of Theatre of the Oppressed (TO), developed by Brazilian visionary Augusto Boal. TO is a form of popular community-based education which uses the universal language of theatre (images, words, movement, etc.) to create dialogue and enact alternatives to conflict.
This workshop also serves as an introduction to this revolutionary form of social action and may springboard into a larger TO project. CONTACT US to schedule an Enacting Equity Workshop today!
